This is a great little clip (15 min) about how the guys from Top Gear (a cool british car show) try to ‘kill’ a toyota pickup truck and fail. They even put it on top of a apartment complex that is then imploded.

Portableapps.com is a nice site wth cool applications that run straight off your thumb drive (or iPod) but this list is much longer giving links to all different kinds of apps that are small enough to be installed on something other than your hard drive.

YouOS is a javascript based online OS is the alpha statge. It looks liek a true playground for javascript programmers. I used to be one a long long time ago.
I played around with it for a little while. Could be fun.

So I have recently begun moving my teaching screencasts to google video, but downloading them is a little bit of a stretch, especially to those who are not real net savvy.
Along comes Keepvid which makes life easy. You drop in the URL of the film you want to download and it gives you a link to download it (in diffeent formats if possible). Easy as pie.
It works for google video, ifilm, and a bunch of others. Way cool.

To this day I remember when my friend in high school told me that he had a lucid dream for the first time.
That was 15 years ago.
I keep thinking about it, wanting to try. With my new outlook on life and the universe, I might actually try this time. Having a good resource helps, and I think this might be it.

Ok, so this might get cool later. This site allows you to edit picture online and then export them in other formats. If you don’t have photoshop or something similiar you can use this ultra simple tool. Don’t get excited, you can only crop, rezie and rotate right now (an export in different file types) but who knows, it might get robust soon.
You can load an image from a webpage too, for those quick ‘I want that pic, but first crop and shrink it’ moments.

I enjoy reading books about exercises for your brain, and I do some of the techniques (counting down from 1000 by 13’s for example)
This site gives a simple 7 day routine to enhance your cleverness, all of which are simple to do, and it looks like the results prove it.
To me, even a 2% increase in brain function is worth the effort.

Benjamin Franklin lived by and self assesed for 13 virtues that represent a real good set of self imposed rules for living.
Good stuff there…
